GET TO KNOW ME

Daniel studied in Sheffield, before completing his Masters at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, with awards from the Foyle Foundation and the Countess of Munster Trust. He also won the 2009 Guildhall aria competition. In 2010, he became the first counter-tenor to be accepted onto the ENO Operaworks programme, and in 2014 was awarded a ‘Golden Mask’ award, - a ‘special jury prize’ with a team for his work in the title role of ‘Franziskus’ At The Bolshoi Theatre.

Daniel has performed with opera companies all over the world, and currently lives near Stuttgart in Germany.

Daniel now works as a singing teacher and educator, with a specialism in performance and anxiety coaching. Alongside his individual studio, he has worked with several different opera companies and music colleges to create and deliver workshops and coaching, including Garsington Opera, Scottish Opera, ENO and RCS among others. Beyond education, Daniel’s workshops are now in demand for corporate team building and creativity exploration, offering universities, professional groups and businesses the same fun and self-awareness we enjoy as performers.

A founder member of Voces8, Daniel has held several positions in education, including singing teacher at Oriel College Oxford, English Arts Chorale, and London Contemporary Voices (support for U2, Sam Smith, Elbow, Mumford, Alt-J etc...)

Daniel can also be heard on many film soundtracks, including 'Lord of the Rings', 'Harry Potter', 'Shaun the sheep', 'How to train your dragon', and many more, and still recommends singers in London, organising performers for private events and studio recordings for film (Disney, Universal) and computer games (Rockstar games).

Daniel also has certificates in CBT, NLP, and Confidence Life Coaching, is a registered Mental Health First Aider (Mental Health England), and Simply ADHD coach (ADDCA).

So, whatever you want to learn with Daniel KR, you know you're in safe hands!
